CHRISTOPHER C. FINLAY – CHAIRMAN/CEO
Chris Finlay began investing in real estate early in his career as a commercial airline pilot with Eastern Airlines. Casual investing soon evolved into a major commercial real estate business, and in 1983, Chris resigned from Eastern to concentrate exclusively on the Finlay Company. During the ensuing years, Chris grew the company into one of the largest real estate firms in New England with offices throughout the region.
In 1990, he began to focus on real estate development, and over the next fifteen years developed and constructed approximately 40 communities and 5,000 units, plus 20 post office facilities. At the same time, he expanded his property management company to accommodate the growing multifamily portfolio. In 2014, he turned his focus to his new multifamily investment firm, Lloyd Jones Capital. Finlay Management has a strategic partnership with Lloyd Jones Capital in the acquisition, enhancement and management of carefully selected multifamily real estate assets.
Chris’s education includes Upper Canada College and post-graduate studies at the Harvard Graduate School of Design. He has also completed extensive industry training through the CCIM, SIOR, RESSI, IREM and LIHTC programs. He has served as senior instructor at the University of Maine Real Estate Division and senior instructor for the Graduate Realtors’ Institute of the Massachusetts Association of Realtors. He chaired the Commercial Investment Division of the NH Association of Realtors and served on the board of the NH Association of Industry and Commerce where he was elected Chairman.
STEVE DRUTH – CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER
Steve Druth has been in the real estate business since 1986. Specializing in commercial brokerage and management, he operated his own firm for over ten years in the Boston area. He was known for his leasing/marketing expertise and the high occupancy levels in his properties.
Upon moving to New York, he became a top producer for Manhattan’s largest independent real estate agency. There, he was charged with training and managing a team of the firm’s top ten agents. Managing people and operations has been the core of Steve’s career.
As chief operating officer at Lloyd Jones, Steve is responsible for managing the company operations including oversight of the portfolio of investment properties. Steve holds a BA in economics from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
HOLLY COSTELLO – CPM – EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT, ACQUISITIONS
Holly Costello is a 25-year veteran of the multifamily real estate industry and has held long-term, executive-level positions with some of the nation’s best-known property management firms. Her expertise covers all residential asset classes including affordable, tax credit, conventional, military, and student housing. Her management portfolios, ranging in size from 12,000 to 25,000 units, have included new construction/lease-ups, troubled receiverships, major renovations, and operational turn-arounds.
In addition to property management operations, Holly has experience in investment real estate capital markets, having worked with institutional investors and pension funds on real estate acquisitions and management. At Finlay Management, Inc., Holly is the President and Chief Operating Officer.
Holly holds a Certified Property Management (CPM®) designation and was the 2016 President of the West Coast Florida Chapter of the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM®). She has also held executive board positions with Bay Area Apartment Association, Florida State University Executive Real Estate Committee, Urban and Land Institute Multifamily Council and the University of Florida Bergstrom Council. She holds the CPO, NCP (LIHTC designation) and Society of Real Estate Appraisers certifications. Holly attended the University of South Florida and Florida State University.
KEITH CONNER – DIRECTOR OF CONSTRUCTION
Keith Conner has over a decade of experience in the construction industry from ground-up construction and large scale capital improvements to interior renovations and maintenance oversight.
Keith began his career with Summit Properties in Charlotte, North Carolina. He went on to hold numerous leadership positions in operations, maintenance, and development for AIMCO, Davis Development, and a luxury multifamily developer.
During his career, he has fostered low maintenance and cost effective programs, designed unit interior renovation plans, and implemented asset preservation measures.
At Finlay Management, Keith oversees all of the physical due-diligence work on asset takeovers. In addition, he works closely with senior management to create and administer all policies and procedures for the firm’s maintenance division.
Keith is a licensed general contractor and holds certifications for OSHA workplace safety, EPA and Heavy Equipment Operator Training.
SUSAN TRUESDALE – REGIONAL VICE PRESIDENT, EAST COAST
Susan Truesdale is a 35-year property-management veteran, specializing in the Southeast. During her career, she spent ten years at Greystar as Southeast regional manager handling training, due diligence, and asset takeovers for which she received numerous awards. Susan has worked with a variety of apartment types including distressed assets, new construction lease ups and tax credit communities. She is also knowledgeable about interior and exterior renovations for multifamily communities.
Over the course of her career, Susan has held the following industry-specific designations: National Apartment Association’s Certified Apartment Manager (CAM)® designation; the Accredited Residential Manager (ARM)® designation from the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM)®; and the Licensed Condo Association Manager (LCAM®) designation. She has also completed three modules toward the Certified Apartment Property Supervisors designation.
Susan was regional vice president of the National Apartment Association for eight years, during which time she served as president of both the Florida and the Bay Area apartment associations. At Finlay Management, she handles the East Coast portfolio and provides local expertise to the Lloyd Jones Capital investment team.
LINDA PORTER, CPM — REGIONAL PROPERTY MANAGER, SAN ANTONIO
Linda has been in the property management business in San Antonio for thirty-five years. Ten of those years she served as a Regional Property Manager with Equity Residential.
Linda specializes in marketing and staff training, and she prides herself on cost control policies. She has won multiple awards for “Manager of the Year,” as well as “Property of the Year.”
She has been an instructor for the San Antonio Apartment Association and has served on the Education Committee. She is a licensed Texas Realtor, and a Certified Apartment Property Supervisor (CAPS). She also holds the esteemed CPM (Certified Property Manager)® designation from IREM (Institute of Real Estate Management®).
At Finlay Management, she serves as the Regional Property Manager for the San Antonio area. In addition, she provides local market expertise to affiliate investment firm, Lloyd Jones Capital.
BARBARA MILLER — REGIONAL PROPERTY MANAGER, SOUTH CAROLINA
Barbara Miller is an award-winning property management professional. She has 20 years of multifamily operations experience with a concentration in new development, value-add and dispositions.
As a previous associate for major firms including Trammell Crow, Whiteco Residential and others, Barbara has assisted with multiple new development lease-ups plus the acquisition and disposition of Class AAA to Class C real estate products.
Barbara holds a Bachelor of Arts from Western Carolina University and spent her earlier career as an anchor for The Sports Report, a Houston-based cable sports show, and twelve years in the airline industry.
As a Regional Property Manager for Finlay Management, Barbara oversees the firm’s South Carolina multifamily portfolio and provides local market expertise affiliate firm, Lloyd Jones Capital, in its investment analysis.
JERRY HALEY, HCCP, CAMT, PMC – DIRECTOR OF COMPLIANCE
Jerry Haley has been with Finlay Management since 2005 and transitioned to Director of Compliance in 2009 after serving as regional manager of approximately 2,000 affordable units. With his extensive training and deep comprehension of regulations as well as property operations, Jerry has earned the respect of the state agencies governing the HUD and LIHTC programs. At Finlay Management, he is responsible for maintaining compliance with government regulations for all HUD and LIHTC units across the firm’s portfolio. He oversees the compliance team, ensuring that file reviews are conducted in accordance with all applicable LIHTC and HUD rulings and that properties stay in compliance with all relevant programs.
Prior to joining Finlay Management, Jerry served as regional manager and tax credit compliance director for a large portfolio of affordable housing in the Southeast for S.L. Nusbaum Realty. For the past 12 years at Finlay Management, Jerry has utilized his extensive knowledge in affordable housing to develop programs and policies for the firm’s properties spread across Florida, Texas and the Southeast.
Jerry holds a Bachelor of Arts in business administration/finance from Southwestern University. He has maintained the esteemed Housing Credit Compliance Professional certification (HCCP) since 2003 and earned a Certified Occupancy Specialist (COS) designation in 2007. Jerry is proficient on multiple software platforms and has an extensive background in facilities management and property operations.
STACEY HESS, CPA – CORPORATE CONTROLLER
Stacey Hess serves as Corporate Controller. Her background includes fifteen years of public accounting where she specialized in corporate taxation and small business accounting. In addition, she has experience in financial statement auditing.
Stacey graduated Magna Cum Laude, from Dowling College in New York with a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting and has been a Certified Public Accountant since 1989. She is strongly committed to her volunteer work within the school system, her church, and various charitable organizations.
